Will You Join My Launch Team?
A launch team is a select group of people who are excited about helping an author spread the word about their new book. For Christian writers it’s based on the spirit of Proverbs 27:2 . . .
Let someone else praise you,
and not your own mouth;
an outsider, and not your own lips.
And I need your help! The message of Learning to Be Me Without You: A Story of Love, Loss, and Coming Home is greater than my platform, sphere of influence, or technological skill. You’re help would be invaluable!

About the Book

Learning to Be Me Without You is a love story about a diagnosis, one last adventure, a crisis of faith, and a
transformed life. With stunning authenticity, Paula Freeman
chronicles her journey into widowhood, the club no one wants to join. Yet in the journey, she discovers how God recovers life from loss.
When doctor’s confirm that Paula’s husband of 40 years has an
incurable lung disease, fear and grief overwhelm her, and she
begins to journal. This memoir is a vulnerable and sometimes
humorous account—in real time—of a terminal illness, a
cross-country move, her husband’s untimely death, and an
unscripted road to healing during a set-apart season by the sea.
It’s a story of God’s faithfulness in the crucible of grief and
what can happen when we say yes to his invitation to Follow
me . . . I want to recover your life.
This book offers gentle guidance and insight toward personal growth through grief and can also
be used as a support group, widows’ ministry, or church group resource.

Why Join the Team?
You’ll help reach widows, widowers, and those who grieve with the compassion of Jesus in their deepest sorrow—a time when many are newly awakened to spiritual things.
There are nearly 15 million widows and widowers in our country. Every day 2,800 U.S. women become widowed (2019 US Census). Most are hungry for hope, validation, healing, and language to express their experience. I know I was. In the weeks and months following my husband’s death, God met me as I read Scripture and stories about others who had grown through grief—and I fell in love with a gentler and kinder Jesus.
In Matthew 13:11-14 Jesus explained to His disciples why he told stories. I especially like The Message translation where Jesus concludes his explanation with this: “That’s why I tell stories:
to create readiness, to nudge the people toward receptive insight.”
